This will be our first blog of the new website!!

We had an all-around great day in Marshall, which made the day wait all worth it! A lot of season bests and even several personal all-time bests occured.

The Girls Varsity race had all five RV runners (Kayla Huhnerkoch, Nicole Bunting, Mary Fixsen, Clair Hammerschmidt, and Charli Miller) running their best races of the season as they finished 3rd out of the 9 schools with a complete team. Kayla led the way for the team with a 1st place finish and a time of 14:59. The Girls Junior Varsity race had both Kirsten DeGonda and Allie Spanovich running their best times of the season. Taylor Haase led the girls to a 6th place finish with her time of 21:04. All five of the girls (Lauren Karnitz, Haylee Sovll, Jasmin Ovre, Julia Prouty, and Lydia Rigge) running in the Girls Junior High Meet ran their best times of the year as well! The girls finished 6th, led by Lauren's 2000 meter time of 8:26, which placed her 10th overall!

The Boys Varsity race, like the girls, had all six runners running their season bests. For most (Ryan Philips, Wes Peyerl, Marshal Quast, Jordan Opdahl, and Cole Gewerth), it was a PR as well. The boys were led by Ryan's 1st overall place with a 5000 meter time of 16:21 to a 4th place finish out of 11 teams. The Boys Junior Varsity team won the meet by 1 point in a tough race against Marshall. The boys were led by Jacob Angermeyr's and Boe Bidinger's 3rd and 4th place finishes. Jacob, Boe, Carter Menz, Macius Schroeder, Nate Benson, Aaron Boyle, Nathaniel Passe, Thomas Benson, Armando Davila, Bruce Helsper, Vaughan Johnson, David Helsper, Caden Hanna, Cameron Liebl, and Shane Liebl all had season bests! Jacob's time was also a PR!  The Boys Junior High finished 5th, led by Deon Estebo's 8th place time of 7:34 (2000 meters). Deon, Conner DeGonda, Spencer Gilk, Blake Hilde, Austin Vogland, Holden Kipfer, Grant Liebl, and Sam Kahnke all had their season bests!

Again, it was a great day for the RV Cardinals! A few injuries and illnesses have us short of the numbers we could have on the start line, but we are hoping to see those athletes competing again soon! Next meet is Monday in Windom.
